Appeal from Essex Police for help in tracing burglary suspect

Retailers and shoppers in a Sussex town are being urged to help police identify a suspected burglar who is wanted by Essex Police.
 
The crime was committed at the Saracens Head hotel on Chelmsford High Street shortly before 4.30am on Wednesday, July 11. A guest had been staying at the premises for several days. He was captured on hotel CCTV stealing a three-figure sum of cash from reception, before then leaving the premises.
 
Investigating Officer, Pc Marcus Baker, said: "This man gave hotel staff false details so we're at a loss at the moment as to who he is. We have obtained this very good CCTV image of him and hope that someone can provide us with a name. We know that he travelled through Sussex, visiting Brighton, before moving on to Kent, Surrey, Suffolk, Essex, Wiltshire and London in July."
 
Anyone with information in connection with this burglary is urged to contact Essex Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
