Did you witness a hit and run collision in Worthing?

Policing are appealing for witnesses to urgently come forward after a woman was involved in a collision with a motorcyclist in Shakespeare Road, Worthing just after 1.30pm today - Thursday 29 March.
Officers are currently carrying out an extensive search of the area as the rider of the bike left the scene immediately after the incident happened. They would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision and/or saw a blue motorcycle riding along Richardson Road and Wickham Road shortly after the incident. They would also like to hear from anyone who saw a man with a black rucksack running along Shakespear Road, Richardson Road and Beccles Road.
The woman has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries. Shakespeare Road has been closed at the junctions with Cowper Road and Richmond Road whilst officers examine the scene.

Operation Rother
A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motorcycle and dangerous driving following a collision with a pedestrian today - 29 March in Shakespeare Road, Worthing.
A 26-year-old local woman has been airlifted to Kings College Hospital in London suffering from head and spinal injuries.
Sergeant Tony Crisp of West Sussex Roads Policing Unit said- "We would urge anyone who witnessed the collision at around 1.30pm to please contact us as a matter of urgency on 101 quoting Operation Rother.
Shakespear Road is now open and I would like to thank drivers for their patience this afternoon whilst emergency services attended to the woman and the scene of the incident was examined."
