A 59-year-old man from Croydon was seriously injured when his grey Yamaha motorbike collided with a blue Kia Rio car driven by a 23-year-old man from Pulborough.
 
It is believed that around 3.55pm the motorbike which was travelling north along the B2138 Lower Street, Fittleworth overtook an HGV lorry and collided with the car travelling in the opposite direction.
 
The motorbike rider was taken by air ambulance to Kings College Hospital, London, suffering from serious chest and pelvic injuries. He remains in a stable but serious condition. The car driver, who was its sole occupant was treated at the scene for shock.
 
No other vehicles or people were involved in the collision.
