Location: 1ST FLOOR FLAT, BROADWATER ROAD, WORTHING
Incident: Fire - 4 storey block of flats - fire in 1st floor flat - 1 man, believed to be in his 60’s, was found semi-conscious lying on the floor of the living room- firefighters wearing breathing apparatus carried him to safety and he was taken to hospital by ambulance suffering from smoke inhalation - 20% of flat destroyed by fire - remainder of building damaged by heat and smoke - 8BA, 3HRs by FRS - damaged areas turned over and damped down WrL Worthing, WrL Lancing, WrL Shoreham, FIO

SATURDAY 8 MAY - 2010

Location: CRESCENT ROAD, WORTHING
Incident: Fire - 4 storey building of ground floor shops with flats on upper floors - fire in ground floor hallway in a cupboard containing the main electrical consumer unit - 7 people rescued by FRS - 2 persons taken to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation -a further 5 adults and 1 baby were checked over by ambulance paramedics- 4BA, 1HR, 1PPV fan by FRS - accidental WrLx3 Worthing, FIO, Red Cross Support Unitsx2

Incident: Fire - mid terraced bungalow - 20% of roof destroyed by fire - remainder of building damaged by heat and smoke - 6BA, 4HRS by FRS - damaged areas cut away by FRS after inspection with thermal imaging camera to identify hot areas - 1 male adult taken to hospital with smoke inhalation - incident under investigation WrLx3 Worthing, WrLx2 Lancing, L4T Haywards Heath, Red Cross Support Unit, FIO

TUESDAY 11 MAY - 2010

Location: THATCHED HOUSE, THE STREET, CLAPHAM
Incident: Fire - 100% of thatched roof damaged by fire - 5% of 1st floor damaged by fire and 30% by smoke - 10% of ground floor damaged by smoke and water - 80BA, 8 ladders 8HRS and foam used by FRS - the fire is thought to have started accidentally but a more detailed investigation has begun -initial investigations focused on a wood burning stove that was in use at the time fire broke out
