Motorcyclist seriously injured on A272 at Easebourne

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist riding westwards on the A272 near Cowdray Park golf course left the road at approx. 6.35pm. and fell into a roadside drainage ditch.
The motorcycle came to rest on top of him and he was rescued by West Sussex Fire and Rescue. Appliances from both Midhurst and Petworth attended with support from a heavy rescue tender [HRT] from Chichester.
No other vehicle was reported to have been involved.
The 43 year old man, from South East London, was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital by the Sussex Police helicopter were he has been detained in a serious condition.
