The Two Counties Inn has now reverted to its former name the Flying Bull and this is the new sign. There are 2 possible stories as to how the pub got its name. Stages-coaches, the Fly and the Bull used to call at the inn on the London to Portsmouth route and were responsible for the name. The licensee of the pub prefers to tell the story of a mad bull which once came crashing into the bar. - P. Steel
