Stolen from Terwick Church, Rogate, West sussex, 7 October 2012

Stolen from Terwick Church, Rogate, West sussex , 7 October 2012
Police Press Release
24 February 2012
ref- PR38920 /2012

Did you buy these stools at Fontwell Market?

Police are trying to trace a member of the public who bought two coffin stools at Fontwell Market, not realising that they had recently been stolen from a local church.
The burglary happened on 7 October at St Peter's Church in Terwick, Rogate. The burglars made off with a small ornamental table, which had been donated by a local parishoner in member of her late husband, and the two coffin stools. Enquiries revealed that the stools - were sold at Fontwell Market about two weeks ago. Police said that they believe that the stools were bought in good faith and the person who purchased them had no idea they were stolen. However, they're of great sentimental value to the church, who would be extremely grateful for their return.

If you are the person that bought the stools then we would ask you to contact police on 101, quoting serial 1239 of 7 October.

Three men from Midhurst aged 32, 21 and 65 have been arrested in connection with the burglary and released on police bail until next month.
