Appeal for help in tracing Crawley post thieves
Police Press Release
6 August 2012
ref- PR39879 /2012

Police are appealing for help in tracing post thieves at a block of flats in Crawley.

For the past couple of months residents within a complex of flats off Commonwealth Drive, Three Bridges, have had post stolen from letter boxes within a communal hallway.

Items stolen include bank cards, cheque books and event tickets.

Since 31 May police have received around 20 reports of post stolen from the flats.

PC Ben Easton from West Sussex Response Investigation Team said: "On several occasions the victims have found that money has been taken from their bank accounts as a result of the thefts. This is very distressing for the victims and causes them great inconvenience. "Covert and overt patrols have been taking place in the area in a bid to trace the offender or offenders, but these have so far been unsuccessful. "However, we have managed to obtain CCTV images of two people we would like to speak to in connection with the thefts. "We would like to hear from anyone who recognises the people in the photo, who has seen anyone suspicious in the area of the flats or anyone with information about who may be stealing the post."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting crime reference WR1/062640/12
or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
