Cocking Chalk Quarry

Situated high on the face of the South Downs above Cocking. The now disused quarry served the Chalk works below it.
On 18th September 1833, William Marshall working on the quarry face was killed when an earthquake struck the area.

Looking west, Cocking village to right. The disused roadway to the quarry,
climbing up from the chalk works and Cocking, is now overgrown but walkable.
