Painting of Rother?

My grandfather James Colin Campbell painted as a hobby and also liked fly fishing in the area.
I know my grandmother, Alice Maud Carter stayed at Iping House, in Iping Lane, before she married him on 6 February 1930 in Chelsea, London. When my mother died we found his painting and I have since had it framed.
My Dad thinks it is the Arun River but the fact they stayed in Iping means it might be the River Rother. There is a church in the background. Does anyone recognise it?
Thanks.

Thank you so much for even replying, I didn't expect anything so quickly, just thought it was worth a chance trying. I did wonder if it was his interpretation or whether someone would immediately recognise the spot. I have Googled the area and gone up and down the river trying to find where it was located. What beautiful countryside!

Iping House as hotel is probably correct as my grandmother gave this address on the marriage certificate, while my grandfather gave a Chelsea address. I wondered if this was the place where he stayed when he went fishing in the area.

My grandmother was 49 days off giving birth to my mother - so she probably was hiding out there until they got married. My grandmother was a nurse and midwife in East London riding her bike to patients just like 'Call the Midwife'.
She was 33 when my mother was born, my grandfather was 48 and had been married once [maybe twice] before and I still haven't found his divorce from his previous wife. So you can see why I am intrigued by their relationship.

Any help is appreciated, so thanks very much.

Susan Drake
