CHALK CLIFFS, BETWEEN HOUGHTON AND AMBERLEY
Amy the dog was rescued from a cliff face by the Technical Rescue Unit from Horley fire station. The cliff had a drop
of approximately 120 feet. Fortunately for Amy she only fell about 25 feet and ended up stuck fast in trees, which
basically saved her life. Amy was rescued by the TRU using specialist line rescue equipment. A happy ending for her
owners, who were somewhat relieved when she emerged only slightly shaken and cold from her ordeal with no injuries
apart from a couple of scratches. - - 8 February 2012
