Purley

Purley is a town in South London, a part of Surrey until 1965, now in the Borough of Croydon.
Originally called Pirlee the area remained mostly agricultural for hundreds of years until the railway arrived in 1841.
A local estate agent William Webb purchased land for the Webb Estate in 1888 and spent thirty years building a garden village for city workers.
