Lovers Seat

The seat appears to date back to at least 1780.

1786
There is a rather romantic account of this seat which was published on postcards.
see here
A more factual account can be found here
1910
A land slip took away a large section of cliff including the large reclining rock shown in many images. After this the edge was mostly fenced off.
18 December 1960
A landslip carried away the terrace on which the Lovers Seat stood.
The actual seat survived until early February 1961 when finally it also slipped over the edge.
The landmark itself seems to have disappeared in a cliff collapse in 1979.
