Bosham
Holy Trinity church

The first church was built in 850 on the site of the Roman basilica and was replaced with the present church in the 10th century. Tradition says that a daughter of Canute the Great was drowned nearby and she was then buried here. This was linked to a 14th century effigy, plus a coffin which contained the skeleton of a child was found in 1865 and this was thought to be the kings daughter.
