Image donated by Pauline Anderson, Daytona, Florida, USA
taken from a postcard dated 1904, titled 'Thatched Cottages, Heyshott, Sussex'

These 2 cottages originally occupied the land opposite Upper Cranmore and adjacent to the road leading into Down Close.
The building to the right was called Carpenters Cottage with a family called Carpenter living there. Demolished probably
in the c.1920s. The gate led into a field where Down Close is now. Boundary of the cottage was the hedge.
The building to the left was possibly known as Home Cottage. demolished approx. 1948-50.
