THIS PAGE IS ARCHIVED AND MAY NO LONGER BE SERVICED CARPENTERS COTTAGE ( HOME COTTAGE ) Heyshott, West Sussex. 01.02.2009 click to enlarge Image donated by Pauline Anderson, Daytona, Florida, USA taken from a postcard dated 1904, titled 'Thatched Cottages, Heyshott, Sussex' These 2 cottages originally occupied the land opposite Upper Cranmore and adjacent to the road leading into Down Close. The building to the right was called Carpenters Cottage with a family called Carpenter living there. Demolished probably in the c.1920s. The gate led into a field where Down Close is now. Boundary of the cottage was the hedge. The building to the left was possibly known as Home Cottage. demolished approx. 1948-50.
