Fox Goes Free The Fox Goes Free is an historic 16thC former hunting lodge, supposedly favoured by William III, in the
village of Charlton in the Lavant Valley near Goodwood. In the 18th century Charlton was renowned as
the home of the first and most famous regular foxhunt in England, with more than 150 horses stabled
here at one time. Its crowning glory was a 10 hour chase in 1738.
