The London to Portsmouth Road, Hindhead, Surrey - postcard published by Friths 1906 - Ref- 461 - click image to return image width shown at 1300px, archived at 1620px Part of the A3 main London to Portsmouth Road until July 2011 when it was replaced by the second longest tunnel motorway system in the UK. The old roads were 'dug up and removed and the area returned to nature' after 100s of years of constant use.
