Hello

I came across your photos when searching for The Clarendon. Thank you!

Reason for the search is that my great grandfather James Butters Martin kept the pub [so family legend has it] after coming out of the army following WWI.
He lived there with wife Florence and two children, James and Florence. By repute, he also bought The Hebe in Shoreham.
The family split in 1926 and the wife and kids went to London.

I hope this may be of interest.
