Holland House library, London, October 1940, - Ref- 303 - click image to return image width shown at 1300px, archived at 4025px On the night of 27 September 1940, Holland House was mostly destroyed in an air raid, being hit by over 20 incendiary bombs. Incredibly almost all of the books in the library were undamaged.
