The New Prince of Wales is considered to be the first pleasure vessel of more than 100 gross tons to be driven by internal combustion engines. She was wooden hulled,
104 feet long and built in Bosham in 1923 by Alec Fowler for the Southend Motor Navigation Co. She was of very shallow draft and ran short cruises from Southend Pier.
