St. Anns Hill

This is were Midhurst was founded. Only the the foundations of the Norman Castle are visible now.
Built soon after 1066 and occupied by the De Bohun family, the first Lords of Midhurst and Easebourne. It was dismantled around 1300 when the family moved down to a site close to were Cowdray ruins now stands.
