Looking west (upriver)
Note the towpath under the bridge.
Also the difference in levels. When seeing a photo such as this it is easier to appreciate that commercial boats travelled along the river.

Heading along the Rother Valley towards Selham
This line opened in1866 and finally closed to all traffic in 1964.

Selham Station 1968

Opened: July 1st 1872
closed to passengers: 7th Feb.1955
This was the station between Petworth and Midhurst.
Now a private house.

It was originally served by the Three Moles pub (built 1872) which is close-by and for the first few months of its life was called the The Railway Inn.
