Incident: Man injured after his car collided with tree
A man has suffered serious injuries after he collided with a tree at 6.22am this morning.
The VW Golf was travelling north on the B2133 at Newpound Common when it failed to negotiate a bend and collided with a tree.
The 38-year-old driver from Billingshurst was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with a serious head injury.

Location: Littlehampton
Incident: Teenager charged with Littlehampton arsons
A 16 year old youth has been charged with two counts of arson after two recycling bins were set alight in the car park at Windmill Road, Littlehampton. The incidents happened on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week [11 and 12 June]. He is due to appear at Worthing youth court on 4 July.

Location: Pagham Road, Bognor
Incident: Pedestrian injured in collision in Bognor
Police were called to Pagham Road at 5.45pm on Friday afternoon to reports of a collision between a car and pedestrian.
A pedestrian collided with the back of the car and hit his head on the ground. The 60-year-old man from Bognor Regis was taken to Southampton Hospital with a serious head injury where he remains in a critical condition.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to contact police on 101 quoting Operation Malvern

POLICE report - Ref: PR42621 / 2013
Time: 9pm
Location: A24, Findon
Incident: Woman seriously injured in Findon collision
Police are appealing for witnesses to a single car collision on the A24 at Findon at 9pm.
The car, being driven by a 43-year-old woman, left the carriageway on the Quadrangle at Findon and collided with a telegraph pole before overturning. The woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. The passenger sustained minor injuries. The road reopened at 1.30am after emergency services dealt with the incident. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police on 101 quoting Operation Walton or email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk

Time: 8am
Incident: FATAL ACCIDENT A22/A272
At 08:00 hours Police, Ambulance and Fire were called to the scene of a collision on the A22, Uckfield, near the junction of the A272.
A grey Ford Mondeo Estate being driven by a male aged 64 from Kingston Upon Thames was travelling north on the A22 when it came into collision with a white Ford Transit Van being driven by a local male aged 49. Having collided with the southbound van the Ford Mondeo then collided with a southbound silver Mercedes C320 being driven by a 59 male from Croydon.
HEMS helicopter also attended the scene however tragically the 59 year old female passenger of the Ford Mondeo died at the scene. The driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital. Occupants from the other vehicles suffered minor injuries.
The road has been closed whilst specialist officers examine the collision scene.

Location: Kennell Hill, north of Chichester
Incident: Two injured in motorbike collision
Two people were injured after a motorbike collision on Kennell Hill, north of Chichester at 7.05pm.
The rider, a 21-year-old man from Hampshire, and his pillion passenger, an 18-year-old woman from Charlton, both suffered injuries. The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries and the man suffered minor injuries, both were taken to Southampton Hospital to be treated. The motorbike collided with the verge causing both of them to be thrown off.
Anyone with information or who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police on 101 quoting serial 1366 of 15/6.

Location: Halewick Lane, Sompting
Incident: Appeal for witnesses to serious assault in Sompting
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted and suffered a serious head injury in Halewick Lane, Sompting, in the early hours. The 21-year-old man was found lying on the ground at the top of the lane at 2.45am. He was taken to Hurstwood Park neurological unit at Haywards Heath to undergo surgery where he is in a serious but stable condition.
A 50-year-old Worthing woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault and released on bail until 15 July.
Detective Sergeant Alex Lowe said: "We are appealing for witnesses because we believe there maybe other people involved in this assault. The man has suffered a serious head injury. He was taken to Worthing Hospital initially but then transferred to Hurstwood Park neurological unit for surgery."

Police concerned for missing Bognor cyclist
Police are concerned for the welfare of Aelfred 'Aelfi' Morris, 27, who has not been seen since he set off for a cycle ride to Felpham on Saturday 15 June. His disappearance is out of character and his family are very concerned.
Insp Steve Rayland said: "We and his family are increasingly concerned as Aelfred suffers from depression and has not been out of touch with his family for so long. He set off from Worthing on Saturday to cycle to his grandmother's in Felpham but he never arrived and he has not made any contact with his family".
Dedicated search teams and volunteers from the Lowland Search and Rescue Team are searching Eartham Woods near Slindon where Aelfred has recently been. He also has links to Middleton-on-Sea.
Aelfred, who lives in Bognor, is described as slim, about 6' 3", he has short dark hair, a beard, and was wearing a cream hoodie and jeans. He is riding a blue mountain bike and is wearing a blue rucksack.
