At around 2pm on Monday 1 April a collision took place in Romany Road, Worthing, between a red Suzuki motorcycle and a local boy. The boy was taken to Southampton Hospital, where he remains. He is suffering from serious leg injuries and a head injury. The injuries are not considered to be life-threatening. The rider of the motorcycle, a 29-year-old man from Bognor Regis, was taken to Worthing Hospital suffering from a serious arm injury but has since been discharged. Romany Road was closed until around 5pm while officers investigated the incident. POLICE report - Ref: PR42028 / 2013 Location: Bognor Incident: Police seek owners of Bognor mountain bikes Police are trying to find the owners of two mountain bikes found in a Bognor house garden. The grey framed mountain bikes both have TRAX written on the main tube of the frame and TR1 across the top tube of the frame. Officers found them in the front garden of a house in Westingway, Bognor, just after midnight on Tuesday 2 April, followlng a call from a local resident. Also seized at the same time were a PIERRE CARDIN glasses case, black on the outside and red on the inside with a pair of sun glasses inside, as well as a gold coloured tube of mini sparklers and a single key with a yellow tag attached to it whiuch could be for a garage or shed or possibly a back door. A 20-year old man and a 16-year old boy were arrested nearby on suspicion of theft and were later released on police bail until 14 April while enquiries continue. F&RS Call Ref: 990 Time: 10:13-12:07 Location: STABLE OFF COLTSTAPLE LANE, HORSHAM Incident: ANIMAL RESCUE large shire horse down in stable - horse moved to safe area outside stable and assisted to her feet by WSF&RS using heavy lifting equipment - horse left in the care of vet and owner - TRU Officersx5, HRT Crawley POLICE report - Ref: PR42213 / 2013 Location: Pond Close, Loxwood Incident: Raid in Loxwood uncovers over 500 cannabis plants Police raided a house in Loxwood today and seized cannabis plants and other assets worth approximately £300,000. Officers entered the address in Pond Close and recovered 503 cannabis plants that were being cultivated in bedrooms; they would have had a street value in excess of £250,000. A small amount of cocaine was also seized. As part of a linked investigation into money laundering, two high performance vehicles were also seized to a combined value of around £40,000. A 47-year-old man and a 60-year-old man, both from Loxwood, were arrested on suspicion of the cultivation of cannabis and money laundering. Both men were later bailed until 14 June pending further enquiries. Robert Leach, of St Helens Wood Road, is believed to have suffered a medical episode, was at the wheel of a Hyundai car when it left the road and collided with a tree at around 12.40pm. A number of people quickly went to his aid and paramedics arrived shortly after, but sadly he died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. The road was closed at Station Road northbound and at the Coopers Cross junction with the A229 while rescue and recovery work took place and re-opened at 2.15pm.
